MEET OUR DIRECTOR

Laura Churchill is an innovative business operator and a leading advocate of Queensland’s fashion industry. She founded Fashion Queensland with a clear vision to drive the industry forward and connect talented local designers and artists with national and international markets.

Laura understands the intrinsic role the fashion industry plays in driving Queensland’s economy and bolstering its tourism, arts and cultural sectors. She creates new opportunities and forges new partnerships to spotlight the state’s fashion industry on the world stage.

From a decade-long career as a fashion journalist, Laura expanded into freelance styling and event management and launched her first fashion business in 2010. She has earned a reputation for producing professional and polished events from intimate showings to large-scale productions.

Laura’s vision for Fashion Queensland is to bring together designers, industry and consumers to grow the state’s fashion industry through events and activations. She proactively works to ensure the fashion industry is attainable and relatable and offers inspiration and opportunity to all Queenslanders.

KYMBERLY LOUISE
Style Director 

Kymberly is an experienced fashion stylist working in the realms of editorial, commercial and image consultancy and as a creative consultant and strategist to marketing, PR and events agencies, corporate businesses and founders over the past 15 years.

Kymberly’s experience spans from advertising campaigns, global fashion editorials, hosting fashion events, visual merchandising, coordinating and styling runway fashion shows and workshops.

Having crafted and managed small and large scale events across a range of corporate and creative industry clients, Kymberly is well placed to lead the Fashion Queensland team’s relationships with designers and stakeholders and ensure the smooth running of each and every event delivery.

JESSINTA LAWRENCE
Back of House Manager

Jessinta Lawrence is a focused powerhouse when it comes to managing backstage at events and fashion shows. With her success on delivering over 300+ fashion shows across the state since launching her fashion career in 2017, she has proven to be Queensland’s most in-demand runway manager.  

 Her speciality is organising and creating systems so the entire back of house department runs smoothly. 

Jessinta and her volunteer team bring a high impact polish to every job she is on, delivering a calm and organised backstage stage environment to deliver seamless runway.
