MEET OUR DIRECTOR

Laura has developed Fashion Queensland as a leading industry platform dedicated to championing Queensland designers, fostering industry collaboration and strengthening the position fashion holds as a contributor to Brisbane’s cultural and economic future.

Laura has developed and produced some of Queensland’s most recognised and long-running fashion initiatives, including Brisbane Fashion Month, Fashion Queensland in Conversation and Cutting Edge, while also producing the Ekka Natural Fibres Fashion Parades from 2017. Her work has consistently focused on creating meaningful opportunities for local designers through strategic partnerships, professional event delivery, advocacy and cross-sector collaboration.

Her focus has been on enduring relationships across government, tourism, education, research, culture and business, working with organisations including Brisbane City Council, Brisbane Powerhouse, Brisbane Racing Club, universities and research institutes, and many of Queensland’s most respected cultural and commercial partners. She is recognised for her ability to connect people, organisations and ideas, creating platforms that deliver value not only for the fashion industry but for Brisbane’s broader creative and economic landscape.

Through this vision, Laura seeks to establish Fashion Queensland as Brisbane’s long-term fashion industry partner, working collaboratively with the city to build a connected, internationally recognised fashion ecosystem that reflects Brisbane’s aspirations as it looks to the next chapter.

KYMBERLY LOUISE
Style Director 

Kymberly is an experienced fashion stylist working in the realms of editorial, commercial and image consultancy and as a creative consultant and strategist to marketing, PR and events agencies, corporate businesses and founders over the past 15 years.

Kymberly’s experience spans from advertising campaigns, global fashion editorials, hosting fashion events, visual merchandising, coordinating and styling runway fashion shows and workshops.

Having crafted and managed small and large scale events across a range of corporate and creative industry clients, Kymberly is well placed to lead the Fashion Queensland team’s relationships with designers and stakeholders and ensure the smooth running of each and every event delivery.

JESSINTA LAWRENCE
Back of House Manager

Jessinta Lawrence is a focused powerhouse when it comes to managing backstage at events and fashion shows. With her success on delivering over 300+ fashion shows across the state since launching her fashion career in 2017, she has proven to be Queensland’s most in-demand runway manager.  

 Her speciality is organising and creating systems so the entire back of house department runs smoothly. 

Jessinta and her volunteer team bring a high impact polish to every job she is on, delivering a calm and organised backstage stage environment to deliver seamless runway.
